The official American Bar Association (ABA) employment report for the class of 2022 has been released. Eligible employment for Cumberland School of Law’s class of 2022 equaled 94.96%, the highest rate in the last 10 years.
This measure represents graduates who are eligible for employment up to 10 months following graduation. The percentage excludes graduates who are continuing their education, such as those pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M.).
Rachel Martin, Cumberland School of Law’s director of Career Development, said, “The class of 2022 overcame the challenges and uncertainty of the post-pandemic legal job market to achieve record-breaking employment numbers, and I am incredibly proud of them. Their success is a testament to their hard work and resilience. I know the class of 2022 will continue to represent Cumberland well and embody our values of professionalism and service for years to come.”
In addition to their hard work during their time at Cumberland, Martin attributed the success of the class to the collective support of the law school’s faculty, staff and alumni.
She said, “Cumberland School of Law’s faculty and staff, in addition to the support of our alumni, were a driving force for this achievement. Thanks to their unwavering commitment to our students’ success, the class of 2022 entered the job market with the education, practical skills and confidence to secure employment across the spectrum of legal employment, including firms, major corporations, public interest entities, universities, government agencies and more.”
Dean Blake Hudson also commented on the employment success of the 2022 graduates.
“To state the obvious, employment is the ultimate goal of a student’s time here. We are happy that so many of our students achieve that goal and are able to pursue meaningful careers in fields that they are passionate about. I am grateful for our faculty and staff, who work hard to come alongside students and ensure that they have every chance to succeed.”
